Meeting With Success!

The staff of Timewise have been very busy! At the end of January we attended a “Meet In The Rockies” trade show that provided a lot of information on hotels and team building activities in Banff, Jasper, Canmore and Kananaskis Country. Our clients are really going to enjoy hosting their next conference, retreat or team building event at one of these hotels! Last week, I had an opportunity to view two great venues in Edmonton and sample some fabulous catering. The first was Grant MacEwan. Joe Ammar from River City Event Rentals had set up the main floor as a small intimate wedding setting and the second floor as a larger wedding event. Beautiful staging! The lower floor will be perfect for some of our smaller corporate events. The second floor has a very large area that can be easily utilized for conferences, trade shows or corporate events. Grant MacEwan even has hotel style guest rooms available at very competitive rates. The second venue I visited was the always fantastic Winspear Centre. It is such a fabulous facility to hold events! Again, River City was there and had set up the Studio Room for a reception. The complete décor was very professional and classy looking. My favorite room is the Founders Room. This room has a fireplace, bar, its own coat check and washrooms. It is a perfect place to hold either a sit down dinner or stand up reception. The Winspear Centre had their preferred caterers there allowing us to sample food from A Cappella Catering, Absolutely Edibles, The Westin Edmonton and Krave. While all of this was going on, Twelfth Night Trio provided the ambience with their beautiful classical music. Well, I can’t wait to write about my next experience. Signing off until next time…
MeetDifferent in Atlanta was Fantastic!

Arlene and I were able to attend MPI's MeetDifferent Conference in early February. I was impressed that Edmonton was well represented with 8 attendees. We had a great time learning and connecting with other meeting professionals. Of course we did all the touristy stuff. The Georgia World Congress Center, Georgia Aquarium, CNN and World of Coca Cola were all magnificent. I was disappointed that we did not have enough time to take in the Martin Luther King Jr. memorials. I am looking forward to attending the World Education Congress in Salt Lake City this July. Please consider joining us.
